To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if British Transport Police are informed of the movement by rail of nuclear warheads and nuclear material; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Hanley

The British Transport police are informed whenever nuclear submarine fuel cores are transported by rail. Rail transport is not used for the movement of our nuclear warheads.
