Mr. Alan W. WilliamsTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will publish a table showing on how many occasions each district council in Wales has granted planning permission(a) in departure from its structure plan and (b) against the advice of its chief planning officer in each year since 1990.
§ Mr. Gwilym JonesThis information is not held centrally.
In the Government response to the Welsh Affairs Committee's report on rural housing, it was accepted that it would be prudent to survey the performance of local planning authorities in the handling of departure cases in view of the recent changes in planning legislation. Consideration is currently being given to how best to collect this information.
