HC Deb 03 May 1994 vol 242 c452W
Mr. Cann

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what guidance is issued in the NHS on whether patients aged 70 years and over admitted to hospitals with suspected heart attacks should be placed in coronary care units rather than general wards.

Mr. Sackville

Decisions about the most appropriate admission and treatment are based upon the needs of the individual patient and should be taken by the clinicians in charge of the patient.
