§ Mr. ForthPlanned spending by central Government, subject to review in the public expenditure survey, rises from £10.4 billion in 1994–95 to £11.3 billion in 1996–97. The 1994–95 grant settlement allows for LEAs in England to spend £17.1 billion on education; the 1995–96 settlement will be announced later in the year.
