To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many fatal accidents occurred during(a) 1991–92 and (b) 1992–93 involving drivers under 20 years of age; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Key

There were 637 fatal accidents in 1991 involving drivers under 20 years of age, and 519 in 1992. Information for 1993 is not available yet.
