§ Mr. FreemanSince January 1993, and up to 26 March 1994, 13,114 staff have either left, or are expected to leave British Rail at a cost of approximately £174 million in 1993 and £129 million in 1994. Over the same periods British Rail recruited 7,423 new staff.
