To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is his estimate of the annual cost of traffic congestion.

§ Mr. Key
The cost of traffic congestion can be measured only against specific alternatives such as road schemes, junction improvements or initiatives to reduce or redirect traffic. It is not possible to provide a national aggregate measure.
