To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has made to Turkish and Turkish Cypriot authorities regarding the occupation of properties in northern Cyprus by Turkish settlers.

The Turkish Government and the Turkish Cypriots are aware of our position on this issue. The communique issued at last October's Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting expressed concern at the influx of Turkish settlers to Cyprus and emphasised that nothing should be done to change the demographic structure of the Island.
