§ Mr. SoamesThe Meat and Livestock Commission is financed by levy which is collected on each animal at the time of slaughter or on export. There is no levy on exported meat. One of the recommendations of the recent review of the Meat and Livestock Commission was that the levy should be collected only at slaughter and not on export. Publication of the findings of the review was announced on 1 March and views have been invited by 1 June 1994.
