§ Mr. MacleanReconviction statistics relate to "standard list" offences as defined in appendix 4 of "Criminal Statistics England and Wales, 1992". It is estimated from a sample of persons commencing supervision under the probation service in 1987 that the proportions of males reconvicted within two years were:
