To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what plans he has to review the role and functions of the Institute of Terrestrial Ecology.

§ Mr. Atkins
None. The Institute of Terrestrial Ecology is a component body of the Natural Environment Research Council, which is not one of my responsibilities. However, it is a highly successful and competitive contractor to many DOE research programmes.
