§ Mr. NorrisThe code of practice will reinforce and build on my Department's existing arrangements for the provision of information.
Both the Department and its agencies already do much to keep the public informed, by way of publishing "popular" policy documents and background papers. They also aim to answer written inquiries from the public within 15 working days, a target which is within the 20 working day period set by the code.
Operational details concerning implementation of the code will be announced nearer to the time of the launch.
