§ Mr. Michael ForsythThe Department has no arrangements for paying compensation to people who have developed emphysema as a result of their employment. Claims for compensation against employers under civil law are a matter for the employer concerned.
Claims for industrial injuries disablement benefit in respect of emphysema are a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Security.
