To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many NHS trusts are now in operation in the Wessex region; and if she will make a statement.

From 1 April 1994 there will be 26 national health service trusts operational in the Wessex region. All hospitals in the Wessex region will operate as trusts from 1 April 1994.
