The Home Secretary has asked me, in the absence of the Director General from the Office, to reply to your recent Question about the provision of toilet facilities at Leeds prison.135WPrisoners in B, E and F Wings now have access to toilets either in or directly from their cells. Proposals for refurbishing the remaining wings envisage that, by February 1996 all prisoners at Leeds will have similar access to toilets and that slopping out will therefore no longer be necessary.
