To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on the steps he has taken to develop co-operation between Departments in the Northern Ireland Office and the Scottish Office on trade, industry and transport matters.

Northern Ireland officials regularly meet their counterparts from the Scottish Office on areas of mutual interest in trade, industry and transport. Those include inward investment, electricity interconnection and transportation links. The permanent secretary of the Department of Economic Development and his senior colleagues will be meeting the secretary and top officials of the Scottish Office Industry Department in May in Belfast.
