To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what is his latest estimate of the final cost and completion date of the Brynglas tunnels and Malpas road scheme.

§ Sir Wyn Roberts
The recent departmental report by the Welsh Office shows the estimated gross cost of the scheme as £76 million. The current contract completion date is December 1994.
