§ Mr. David NicholsonTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if she will make a statement on the launch of the Blackdown Hills environmentally sensitive area, indicating the consultation that has taken place, and the arrangements to ensure that fanners and other relevant organisations are aware of the opportunities arising from this environmentally sensitive area.
§ Mr. JackThe Blackdown Hills environmentally sensitive area—ESA—was launched on 16 March. We carried out full public consultation on this ESA last spring with interested bodies both locally and nationally. All farmers within the area have been notified of the launch of the ESA and have been invited to attend one of a series of evening information meetings.
