§ Mr. FreemanAround £2 million has been provided in 1993–94 to cover the running costs of the office of passenger rail franchising. Estimated running costs in 1994–95 are £10 million.
Government support for passenger services will continue to be provided. The estimated level of support in 1994–95 is £1,825 million, the greater proportion of which will be paid via the Franchising Director.
