§ Mr. AncramParental demand for integrated education continues at a high level. Twelve new integrated schools have been established since 1989, when legislation to encourage and facilitate its development was enacted. 4,000 pupils now attend 21 integrated schools, primary and secondary, throughout Northern Ireland. The Government will continue to respond positively to viable proposals.
