§ Miss Widdecombe[holding answer 14 March 1994]: The Employment Department has not contracted with the former skill centres since privatisation.
Former skill centres which have delivered Government training programmes under contract to training and enterprise councils will have been subject to the same financial and quality assurance checks as other providers.
Beyond this, the Employment Department has not undertaken any specific assessment of their record in the east midlands.
