Mr. Wallace

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what information he has on the amount spent on the repair and maintenance of school buildings by local education authorities in Scotland in each financial year since 1989–90.

[holding answer 14 March 1994]: The available information is given in the table. The capital figures include expenditure on new building work as well as on repairs and maintenance, information on which is not recorded separately.
