§ Mr. BoswellThe survey commissioned from Hunter and Partners by the Further Education Funding Council estimated that the total cost of remedial works at colleges entering the further education sector was £839 million, of which £359 million was needed for urgent health and safety work. The maintenance of college premises is the responsibility of the colleges themselves; but the Further Education Funding Council is assisting them through capital grant with the costs of the necessary work.
