HL Deb 14 March 1994 vol 553 c4WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What has become of the 17,450 weapons systems which, in accordance with the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe Treaty, signatories have got rid of; and whether they and other NATO members are considering selling them, or passing them on, to countries taking part in Partnership for Peace agreements with NATO.

Baroness Chalker of Wallasey

The vast majority of this equipment has been destroyed; the remainder has been rendered permanently unserviceable for further offensive use in accordance with the provisions of the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe Treaty.
