HL Deb 10 March 1994 vol 552 c112WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will urge the United Nations General Assembly to approve the budget for the Tribunal on War Crimes in the former Yugoslavia; and the Security Council to appoint a new prosecutor.

Baroness Chalker of Wallasey

We, in conjunction with our European Union partners, have urged the Fifth Committee of the UN General Assembly to deal with the question of the financing of the tribunal as soon as possible. We have also been active in efforts to find a suitably qualified candidate for the position of prosecutor.
