§ Mr. David YoungTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will press the Israeli Government to disarm Israeli settlers, to commit itself to no further settlements in Palestinian-occupied territory and to see that existing settlements are effectively policed.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggIt is very important that the Government of Israel disarm extremist settlers. We welcome the actions announced so far by the Israeli Prime Minister including consideration of outlawing two extremist settler organisations. Our view remains that settlements are illegal and an obstacle to peace.
