To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish current sickness absence rates in respect of staff of the Audit Commission.

No. Under schedule 3 to the Local Government Finance Act 1982, the Audit Commission is responsible for the recruitment and management of its own staff. The Government do not involve themselves in this process.
