§ Mr. DuncanTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list the statutory provisions on his Department's highways powers which would allow him to consider including a bypass for the villages of Wymondham and Thistleton in the A1 widening scheme adjoining the RamJam junction.
§ Mr. KeyIt is expected that the up-grading of the A1 trunk road to motorway standard would generally follow the line of the existing road. Wymondham and Thistleton are some distance from the A1, they are served by local highways and the Department does not have statutory powers to promote bypasses for these villages.
