asked Her Majesty's Government:

  1. (i) Whether the Countryside Council for Wales has commissioned and obtained the results of an ecological survey in the vicinity of wind farms relating to their effects and, if so, what were the results; and
  2. (ii) Whether the Countryside Council for Wales has commissioned and obtained the results of any ecological survey relating to wind farms and, if so, what were the results.

The Countryside Council for Wales commissioned a survey to monitor three wind turbine power stations in Wales. One aspect of the survey involved a detailed ecological survey of two sites. The full report, which will include suggestions of good practice for wind turbine developers, is expected to be published shortly and a copy will be placed in the Library of the House.
