§ Mr. BowisThe first full year of data following the introduction of the national health service aspects of the Act was 1991–92. These data exclude long-stay places provided by the NHS in the community or purchased from independent providers. It shows that between 1991–92 and 1992–93 there was at net increase of four long-stay hospital ward beds in the NHS in the Wirral and a net decrease of 6,832 in England.
