To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what plans he has to seek an advance from the Contingencies Fund.

Further to the reply that I gave my hon. Friend the Member for Dartford (Mr. Dunn) on 24 February,Official Report, column 324, pending parliamentary approval of the revised spring supplementary estimate on the administration and transport services vote—class VI, vote 2—sought to provide for a payment to the United States Government, expenditure estimated at £20,000,000 will be met by a repayable advance from the Contingencies Fund.
