§ Mr. Charles WardleThere are no specific funds available for local authorities for this purpose. Funding for the capital costs of closed circuit television systems has been made available to some local authorities and others through the Home Office safer cities programme. It is also open to local police authorities to contribute towards the provision of CCTV systems from their capital allocation which is supported by 51 per cent. Home Office grant.
