§ Mr. HanleyThe cost of the British contributions to the United Nations operations in the former Yugoslavia is estimated to be some £81,000,000 in financial year 1993–94. A breakdown of these costs is as follows:
- £76,000,000 for Operation Grapple in Bosnia;
- £1,000,000 for Operation Hanwood, the field ambulance which withdrew from Croatia in September 1993;
- £3,900,000 for Operation Cheshire, the British contribution to the Sarajevo airlift.
In addition the United Kingdom assessed contributions to UNPROFOR paid by the FCO during the financial year is estimated to be between £38,000,000 and £40,000,000.
