HC Deb 04 March 1994 vol 238 cc902-5W
Mrs. Clwyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will provide an up-to-date table showing for the counties of England, for each year since 1989, the number of places on youth training schemes and the number of people who have been waiting for eight weeks for a place.

Miss Widdecombe

Information is available for England and training and enterprise councils in England, but not on a comprehensive basis for English counties. Information about the number of available places is not collected centrally. The number of young people on youth training at the end of each financial year and at the latest date are given at tables 1 and 2. TEC level data are not available prior to 1991–92.

Information on the number of people waiting for eight weeks or more has only been collected since autumn 1992 and the first reliable TEC level data are available from March 1993. These and the latest data are given at table 3.
