To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make it his policy to hold a public inquiry in connection with any proposals to increase military activity in the Northumberland national park.

Any proposals relating to the further development of military facilities in the Northumberland national park will be subject to the formal planning consultation process as laid down in the Department of Environment circular 18/84.
