§ Mr. BlunkettTo ask the Secretary of State for Health what discussions she has held with the Home Office and the Department of the Environment regarding the need to improve co-ordination between the Department, the police and social services in the treatment of her mentally ill in the wake of the report of the inquiry into the care and treatment of Christopher Clunis.
§ Mr. BowisWe fully endorse the importance placed by the inquiry on co-ordination in this area. The Department works closely with the Home Office to encourage effective liaison between the police and other criminal justice agencies and the health and social services.
