What consideration was given to pipeline investment in the banana industry in setting the banana quota for (a) Belize, (b) the Ivory Coast and (c) Cameroon, under Annex 1 to EC Council Regulation 404/93.
The Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Earl Howe)In arriving at the traditional quantities listed in Annex 1 to Council Regulation 404/93, account was taken of specific investments already made under programmes in the ACP supplier countries for increasing production. The quantities were arrived at after discussions between the ACP Group in Brussels and the Commission. We have no information on which pipeline investments were taken into account in fixing the traditional quantities for Belize, the Ivory Coast and Cameroon.
