HC Deb 02 March 1994 vol 238 c723W
Mr. Denham

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how the United Kingdom was represented at the annual meeting of the world economic forum on 28 to 30 January in Davos; what instructions the Government gave to the representative; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer attended the informal gathering of world economic leaders in Davos on 28 to 30 January as part of the world economic forum's annual meeting. It was not an intergovernmental meeting, but provided an opportunity for international economic policy makers to discuss longer-term trends in the world economy on an informal basis.
