§ Mr. SackvilleNo studies have been done to ascertain what doctors record on the death certificates of patients who have had necrotising fasciitis. From 1990 to 1992, when necrotising fasciitis was given as the underlying cause of death, this was coded by Office of Population, Censuses and Surveys as "fasciitis unspecified" using the international classification of disease index.
