§ Miss WiddecombeThe table shows the number of first degree graduates who were in permanent employment in industry at the end of the calendar year in which they graduated. The figures are expressed as a percentage of all first degree graduates from United Kingdom universities and as a percentage of all those in permanent employment in the United Kingdom. They are derived from surveys published by the "Universities' Statistical Record" and exclude graduates from the former polytechnics and central institutions which received university status from 1992 onwards.
