The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your recent Question about the number of people taking part in the assisted prison visit scheme during 1993 and the total amount of funding paid out under it.The information you request is not available for the calendar year or in the form requested. For the financial year 1993–94 the number of successful applications was 74,280 and the total funds disbursed were £2,236,816.
