§ Mr. LangA report entitled "Research into Detention and Voluntary Attendance of Suspects at Police Stations" is being published today.
The report shows that despite some difficulties in a small proportion of cases caused by the six-hour limit, the current provisions for detention and voluntary attendance generally work satisfactorily. I do not intend to bring forward any legislative proposals on this subject.
