To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to his answer of 7 March,Official Report, column 3, regarding the appointment of a temporary financial director in the Transport Research Laboratory, who took the decision to make the appointment.

In line with the terms of the framework document for the Transport Research Laboratory the decision to appoint a temporary financial director was made by the principal establishment and finance officer of the Department, in consultation with the chief executive of the Transport Research Laboratory.
