To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the United Kingdom's net contribution to the European Union in(a) the calendar year 1995 and (b) the current year; and what was the actual net contribution in 1993.

The Government's estimates of the United Kingdom's net contribution to EC institutions for the calendar years 1993 and to 1994 are set out in the "Statement on the 1994 Community Budget" (Cm 2486), which was published in March this year. Our estimates for the calendar year 1995 will be published in next year's statement.
