Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list universities and former polytechnics at which the Ministry of Defence has funded research in the last five years.

Mr. Aitken

I am arranging for the list placed in the Library of the House in May 1992 to be updated to reflect changes since then.

Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he has considered changing his policy on making public details of research projects funded by the Ministry in universities.

Mr. Aitken

It has been and remains our consistent policy not to publish such details.
