HC Deb 21 June 1994 vol 245 cc81-2W
Mr. Jamieson

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage whether his Department has been consulted by the Ministry of Defence over the possible siting of a naval firing range off Dodman point in Cornwall; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Sproat

[holding answer 20 June 1994]: My Department has not been consulted on this matter. I know, however, that, in making his decision, my hon. Friend the Minister of State for the Armed Forces will take into account the possible implications for the local tourism and leisure sectors upon which the Cornwall economy so much depends.
