(2) when the exercise on (a) metric conversion and (b) metric conversion with regard to distance measurement is expected to be completed.
§ Mr. McLoughlinThe Government intend to bring forward legislation to implement the units of measurement directive before the summer recess. This legislation will include dates for converting to metric where conversion is required. However, it will allow the continued use of the mile, yard, foot and inch for road traffic signs, distance and speed measurement as permitted by the directive.
