Whether the IAEA has established beyond doubt and to the satisfaction of Her Majesty's Government the provenance and status of the recently discovered but historically unaccounted-for plutonium at the Tokai Mura nuclear fuel-making plant in Japan, and what steps are to follow from this discovery.

An IAEA Press Release of 25 May 1994 gave information on the accumulation of nuclear material in the Tokai Mura plant, emphasising that the material remains under full safeguards and is not, and has not, been missing or unaccounted for. Her Majesty's Government have full confidence in the IAEA assessment of the situation.
