Clause Offence. Maximum penalty 12. (Linked with Schedule 2 para. 5). Making a false statement to obtain certification as STC custody officer. Summary conviction: Level 4 fine. 13. Assaulting an STC custody officer. Summary conviction: Six months' imprisonment or level 5 fine or both. Resisting or wilfully obstructing an STC custody officer. Summary conviction: Level 3 fine. 14. Wrongfully disclosing information about STC trainee. On indictment: Two years' imprisonment or a fine or both. Summary conviction: Six months' imprisonment or fine up to the statutory maximum or both 40. (Linked with Schedule 4 para. 10). Making unauthorised report of transfer proceedings. Summary conviction: Level 5 fine. 46. Intimidating a witness, juror, etc. On indictment: Five years' imprisonment or a fine or both. Summary conviction: Six months' imprisonment or level 5 fine or both. 77. Possessing an article intended for terrorist purposes. On indictment: Ten years' imprisonment or a fine of both. Summary conviction: Six months' imprisonment or a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum or both. Collecting or having information likely to be useful to terrorists. Giving a false statement to the court about financial circumstances Summary conviction: Three months' imprisonment or level 4 fine or both. The training implications of the new offences are currently being discussed with the Association of Chief Police Officers. The ways in which identified training needs are best met will be considered as necessary by the Police Training Council.
