To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the training, command and control, logistic support and financial arrangements for the New Zealand company group to be deployed with British forces in the former Yugoslavia.

The New Zealand Government authorised last month the deployment of a company group in support of UNPROFOR. We welcome this and have agreed that the company group should be attached to one of the British Army battalions serving in Bosnia-Herzegovina. We are still discussing with the New Zealand Government the details of the attachment and the level of assistance which will be provided to their contingent.
